  • 2008 MISS CERRITOS
    SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST
     
    ... a professional development opportunity for young women....
     
     
     
    The Cerritos Regional Chamber is seeking contestants
    for the 2008 Miss Cerritos Scholarship Contest.

     
    The 2008 Miss Cerritos Scholarship Contest and Networking Mixer will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts.
     
    Miss Cerritos is a Scholarship Contest and  NOT a pageant. This is a professional development opportunity for young women. We are looking for professional, outgoing, responsible, articulate young women to represent the Chamber as an Ambassador throughout the year.
     
    The goal of Miss Cerritos is for young women to gain professional networking skills, public speaking and interview skills, and to make contacts within the Cerritos business community to help further their professional careers.
     
    Women must be between the ages of 18 and 27 and live, work, or go to school in Cerritos (or work for a business that is a member of the Cerritos Regional Chamber of Commerce).
     
    If you know of young women interested in participating in the Miss Cerritos Contest, please have them contact the Chamber Office: 562/467-0800. The contestant orientation meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 6:00 pm at the Chamber Office - 13259 East South Street.

  • Erika:   Is that gift for me mommy
    Char  : Yes, it is.  Its for your birthday. 
    Erika:  Who gave that to me?
    Char:  Its from Aunties Steph, Cheryl and Karen, and 5eema. 5eetiu kong bought it from the U.S.
    Erika:  Really? They know its my birthday?
    Char: Yeah. 
    Erika:  :-) big big smile.
     
     
    Awe...I love kids.  That was a conversation between my cousin Charlene in the Philippines and her daughter Erika Charisse Sia.  I miss them both dearly.

  • I have to watch this movie, "Diary of a Mad Black Woman"


    Madea: Love is stronger than any addiction, baby; hell, it *is* one.


    Myrtle: You know I know this man put a hurtin' on you baby, but you've got to forgive him. No matter what he done, you've got to forgive him - not for him, but for you.
    Helen: Forgive him for me?
    Myrtle: When some body hurts you they take power over you, if you don't forgive them then they keeps the power. Forgive him baby and after you forgive him, forgive youreself.


    Myrtle: You've got to stand on your own two feet.
    Helen: I don't think I'm strong enough.
    Myrtle: Of course you are, you've got the strength God gave all women to survive. You just have to tap into it.


    Helen: Orlando, what's going -
    Orlando: I know you don't believe in fairy tales. But, if you did, I'd want to be your knight in shining armor. You've been through so much. I don't want to see you hurt anymore. Now I may not be able to give you all that your used to. But I do know I can love you past your pain. I don't want you to worry about anything. You just wake up in the morning, that's all you have to do and I'll take it from there. There's one condition. You have to be my wife.

  • Last night, as I was sleeping on the futon, I dreamt that there was a huge long-legged spider coming down at me from its web. Freaked the heck out of me cause it felt so real! Some dream interpreters say that it means luck is coming my way. Oh, Please be true. :)
